BCO Halloween Party is a format designed to engage younger audiences. We celebrate Halloween their way—pairing the festive spirit of the holiday with electroacoustic music and iconic classical masterpieces, from Danse Macabre to Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This format aims to redefine classical music through exciting and accessible programs that truly resonate with a new generation.
Each Halloween Party starts with a central theme and is developed as a full immersive experience—from staging and decor to the musical program and narrative. The 3rd edition is currently in production.

“The Headcarrier” is the second edition of BCO’s Halloween-themed concert experience—an immersive and theatrical production designed to resonate with younger audiences and lovers of bold, atmospheric events. Taking place on October 31st in the hauntingly beautiful Concertzaal Tilburg, this production aims to redefine the classical concert format by blending orchestral music with electronic soundscapes, storytelling, and visual art.
The audience is welcomed into the experience through a fully transformed venue. From the moment guests enter the decorated foyer, they are transported into a spooky, enchanted world, with the concert hall itself fully adorned in immersive Halloween-themed staging and decor. This carefully designed setting lays the foundation for an evening of intense musical and visual storytelling.
The program features iconic orchestral works such as the finale from Stravinsky’s The Firebird, Mussorgsky’s Night on a Bald Mountain, and a special electro-acoustic arrangement of Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, in which semi-live electronics are fused with the orchestra to chilling effect. Alongside these classics, the audience is introduced to brand-new works created specifically for this production—an artistic collaboration between electronic composer Bastiaan van Vuuren and classical composer Vlad Chleck. These new electro-acoustic pieces expand the concert’s emotional and narrative scope, offering a thrilling journey into unknown sonic territory.
At the heart of the evening is a dramatic retelling of A Hero’s Journey, brought to life by actors Lina Lee and Pien Klabbers, whose theatrical performance adds an emotional and narrative depth to the musical experience. Their presence turns the concert into a full-scale story that unfolds across music, visuals, and movement.
In line with the Halloween spirit, the orchestra will perform in costume, adding a playful and unconventional energy to the evening. Audience members are warmly encouraged to join in the fun by attending in their own Halloween attire, contributing to the collective atmosphere and making the event a shared celebration.
Following the concert, guests are invited to an informal afterparty in the foyer, where Bastiaan van Vuuren returns to the stage with hypnotic DJ sets that let the audience celebrate late into the night.
This production exemplifies BCO’s mission to reimagine the classical concert experience through immersive storytelling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and formats that genuinely connect with new generations of concertgoers.
