The conductor
Amin is the conductor orchestras turn to for bold artistic projects. While fully at home with traditional concert setting, he thrives in innovative programming, new concert formats, multidisciplinary collaborations, and integrating other cultures’ music into symphonic settings.
Born and raised in Iran he trained as an architect before making the switch to full time musician. Amin works at the intersection of conducting and composition — his background in Persian music, architecture and Western contemporary composition feeds directly into his approach in programme and how he works with orchestras. Amin is particularly affiliated with Eastern European and Russian/Soviet repertoire, creating new formats, and programmes that have an edge — where the connection between works isn’t always obvious on paper, but creates something musically and dramatically coherent in the hall.
A dual conductor and composer, Amin approaches each project holistically, blending orchestration, dramaturgy, and storytelling into a compelling musical experience. His leadership has led to collaborations with Cappella Amsterdam, Brabant Koor, and the Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest, among others, bringing him to major stages like Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Philharmonie de Paris.
